"I have reliable information that the late President Tudjman in
1992 through a mediator offered Slovene ministers that he would
give Slovenia the entire Piran Bay in return for weapons. The
Slovene side didn't accept the offer," Damir Kajin of the Istrian
Democratic Assembly (IDS) party is quoted as saying in "Delo's"
online edition of Thursday.
Kajin said that it was hypocritical of Tudjman's Croatian
Democratic Union (HDZ) party to accuse the incumbent Croatian
government of trading in national interests.
The border in Piran Bay is an open issue between Croatia and
Slovenia.
