SFOR INCREASES PATROLS IN MOSTAR

MOSTAR MOSTAR, Sept 10 (Hina) - The NATO-led Stabilisation Force (SFOR) and local police have stepped up patrols in Mostar's suburb of Klepci (with a majority Croat population) into which Serbs are returning to their pre-war homes, Mostar's UNHCR Office reported on Wednesday. The increased security measures have been undertaken after unknown persons fired from a machine gun at four Serb returnees' houses on September 7. There were no casualties. The head of Mostar's Office of the High Representative to Bosnia, Jean Pierre Bercot, today denounced acts of shooting at returnees' homes in Klepci, and called on local police to apprehend the perpetrators. Bercot criticised local authorities for not having issued a statement about the incident. There was no official information about the shooting for three days. Incidents like this one is a threat to anybody, Bercot said.(hina) lml
