Slovenians demand sovereignty, because without sovereignty
Slovenia is not a maritime, but a coastal country, Miroslav Rozic of
the HSP said at a news conference.
He reminded that a year ago the HSP demanded that an economic belt be
proclaimed on the sea. The HSP will continue to insist on that
demand, it was said at the press conference.
Tonci Tadic, also of the HSP, also pointed to the lack of logic in an
agreement on cross border trace and cooperation with Slovenia which
grants the right to both countries to catch fish in the other
country's waters. According to Tadic, Croatia is in a worse
position because Slovenia's sea is smaller.
Tadic said that in line with Article 60, Item 3, of the agreement,
each party can temporally, partially or entirely suspend the
implementation of the agreement.
Nothing prevents the Croatian government from doing so, Tadic
concluded.
