LJUBLJANA, Aug 26 (Hina) - Only a quarter of Slovenes blame
Croatians for incidents in Piran Bay, while most believe both sides
are responsible, says a monthly poll carried out by Slovene's daily
"Dnevnik". #L#
The paper says that the results of the poll indicate that the
Slovene public is prepared to accept arbitration for a solution to
the dispute between the two countries.
Almost 57 percent of those questioned said they held both sides
responsible for tensions surrounding the Piran Bay issue, 25.3
percent of Slovenes hold Croatia responsible, while 8.6 percent
said Slovenia was to blame.
Forty-one percent of those questioned said they wanted arbitration
despite statements by Slovene politicians that this would lead to
nowhere, and that both countries would be showing their
incompetence to solve the contentious issue by themselves.
