The papers report that the protests were peaceful, however,
accusations could be heard not only against the UN Mission in
Kosovo, but for the first time against Kosovo politicians.
The Koha Ditore daily said the protesters urged the release of the
former KLA fighters, accusing the UNMIK and the Kosovo president,
government, and parliament of not doing anything to protect the
values of the liberation struggle, which they claim the UNMIK has
been attacking more and more.
The daily "Zeri" reports that the protesters opposed confrontation
with the international community as well as the equalising of the
victim and the aggressor.
The daily "Epoka e Re" reported that a group of intellectuals from
Kosovo had sent a letter to the UN Administrator in Kosovo, Michael
Steiner, stating that Kosovo institutions were only token
institutions while the UNMIK had absolute power.
