Military Police Commissioner, Major General Mate Lausic, said at
the ceremony that there were numerous assessments from the country
and abroad that the Military Police was the best organised in the
entire Croatian Armed Forces.
Lausic announced that a German Army verification team would be
arriving on Sunday to check out the abilities of a military police
platoon, the first Armed Forces unit equipped for participating in
international peace missions, and which could soon depart to
Afghanistan on a mission.
Antunovic recalled that 130 members of the Military Police had been
killed in defending Croatia.
Croatia does not live only in the past which is marked by numerous
victims, she said, stressing that Croatia should create such armed
forces and military police which would be able to respond to future
challenges facing Croatia.
