BELGRADE, Aug 3 (Hina) - An invitation for bids for the purchase of
the Serbian oil company "Beopetrol", which was announced for the
end of July, has been postponed for the end of September or the start
of October, Serbian Privatisation Minister Aleksandar Vlahovic
said on Saturday, adding that the cause for the postponement was a
suit filed by Croatia's oil company INA. #L#
Croatia's oil giant asks for the return of petrol stations it owned
in Serbia prior to the war.
Vlahovic expects that a Belgrade court, where the suit was filed,
will decide in favour of Serbia in early autumn.
He was quoted by the local radio B92 as saying that INA was not
interested in the former property but that it "wants to get the
Serbian market free of charge."
"I am completely relaxed as regards the INA issue, and I expect that
the ruling of the Commercial Court and any other court (...) will be
absolutely in our favour," Vlahovic said.
The minister claimed that INA did not care much about old petrol
stations which would be used "only until anybody who will buy
"Beopetrol" renovate them or build new ones."
