ZAGREB, July 22 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic in
response to questions by the press on Monday commented on the

over the border crossing at Hrvatska Kostajnica. #L#
The privatisation of INA does not involve the sale of the entire
packet of shares but will establish a new ownership structure, said
Mesic after he awarded scholarships to students in Zagreb.
We went into privatisation, the president emphasised so that we
could establish an atmosphere on par with those who appear to have
done more in this field.
Croatia must exit out of the system it used to be in, Mesic said
explaining that in principle he did not object to privatisation but
only asked that the process remain transparent and that Croatia
puts in place control mechanisms so that everything doesn't go to
everyone else but that something remains in Croatian hands.
Commenting on the disagreement over the border crossing to Bosnia
on the Una river near Hrvatska Kostajnica, President Mesic stressed
that he always advocated that Croatia should function as a law-
based country but at the same time that its neighbours be so
organised as well.
I advocate that Bosnia functions as a well organised state having
institutions at the country level. As such, presidents and chiefs
at lower levels (municipal) cannot take on the prerogative of state
institutions, he said.
I believe that Bosnia will find the way to eliminate those who
should not be in these places and that the problem will be resolved
on the country to country level, concluded President Stjepan
Mesic.
