BELGRADE, July 18 (Hina) - The presidential election in Serbia will be held on September 29, the president of the Serbian parliament, Natasa Micic, announced on Thursday, adding that before the completion of the fifth extraordinary
sitting of the republic parliament, she would call for the election.

According to Micic, candidates will submit their official
candidacy for the election run as of July 29.
So far, Federal Vice Premier Miroljub Labus has announced his
candidacy. Other candidates include the Mayor of Cacak and
president of the New Serbia - a coalition partner within the
DOS - Velimir Ilic; attorney and president of a non parliamentary
party, Pravda (Justice Party), Borivoj Borovic. Other possible
candidates could include the Serbian Vice Premier in charge of
Kosovo and president of the Democratic Alternative, Nebojsa Covic,
and Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica.
The mandate of the current president of Serbia and Hague-based war
crimes tribunal suspect Milan Milutinovic expires December 29.
