ZAGREB/ROME, July 18 (Hina) - Croatian Ambassador to Italy Drago Kraljevic on Thursday signed an agreement on behalf of the Croatian government in the premises of FAO (Food and Agriculture Organisation) relating to the establishment
of an international organisation for the development of fishing in eastern and central Europe (Eurofish), Croatia's Foreign Ministry reported.

Kraljevic on Thursday signed an agreement on behalf of the Croatian
government in the premises of FAO (Food and Agriculture
Organisation) relating to the establishment of an international
organisation for the development of fishing in eastern and central
Europe (Eurofish), Croatia's Foreign Ministry reported. #L#
With that, Croatia follows suit of Denmark, Albania, Latvia,
Norway, Rumania and Turkey and has become the eighth member of
EUROFISH. The organisation is engaged in issues relating to
developing fishing in eastern and central Europe which was founded
within the FAO "EASTFISH" project with a donation from the
government of the Kingdom of Denmark.
The objective of the project is to support development and
modernisation of aquaculture and fish production and manufacturing
in central and eastern Europe.
EUROFISH headquarters is in Copenhagen while the founding
agreements concerning the organisation are kept at FAO (UN) in
Rome.
