The elections will be held on time as the state Election Commission
has been preparing them well, Robert Beecroft said in Mostar on
Tuesday.
The Election Commission today stated that the June 20 deadline for
the registration of voters would not be extended.
An association of Bosnian Croat refugees and displaced persons
today called on Bosnian Croat officials to extend the deadline.
They said that lack of coordination between the Election Commission
and the Bosnian Embassy in Zagreb had resulted in the complete
absence of a campaign encouraging registration and, consequently,
only ten percent of Bosnian Croat refugees in Zagreb registered for
the autumn ballot.
This is the first post-war election organised by Bosnian
authorities.
