ZAGREB, July 11 (Hina) - In the first five months of 2002, the concern "Koncar" has realised an income totalling 691.5 million kuna, which is a 19-percent increase as against last year, the company reported.

concern "Koncar" has realised an income totalling 691.5 million
kuna, which is a 19-percent increase as against last year, the

Sales account for the largest part of the income - 97 percent,
followed by financial and other income.
Income from the sale of products and services in said period
amounted to 567.6 million kuna, an increase of 18 percent. Domestic
sales totalled 309.6 million kuna, an increase of 21 percent, while
foreign sales amounted to 258 million kuna, which is a rise of 14
percent.
The concern's Energy and Transport sector accounted for 66 percent
of all sales and increased by 28 percent in relation to the year
before. Industry and Trade sectors also increased their sales by
eight and 11 percent respectively.
The Croatian Power Industry (HEP) has remained the concern's
biggest domestic client, accounting for 38 percent of domestic
sales. It is followed by clients from the areas of trade and
farming, the Croatian Railways, the shipping industry, etc.
The company's most important foreign clients are Bosnia-
Herzegovina, which accounted for 37.2 million kuna of sales in the
first five months, Yugoslavia, with 21.9 million kuna, and Nigeria,
with 21.4 million kuna. The three countries are followed by
Slovenia (19.4 million), Germany (18.4 million), the Czech
Republic (12.7 million), Sweden and Saudi Arabia (11 million each),
Cyprus (10.3 million), and the United Arab Emirates (9.4 million).
These countries account for 67 percent of Koncar's exports.
The company's most successful exporter units are Distribution and
Special Transformers, Power and Transport Engineering, Measuring
Transformers, Generators and Engines, Switch Units, and Household
Appliances.
