ZAGREB, June 11 (Hina) - The management of Croatia's oil company INA

The management stressed that the acts of former management members
were subject to a criminal investigation. #L#
In a statement issued today INA says that the current management,
headed by Tomislav Dragicevic, was appointed in June 2000. Since
the very start, the new management has been working very hard to
remove all irregularities which occurred in the company at the time
of the former management.
"INA's management has done everything in its power to remove the
irregularities and have those responsible punished," the statement
says.
The new management has secured a strong internal control and
supervision system so that possible future irregularities could be
discovered and prevented on time.
The management says that requested information and documents have
been submitted to the police and the state prosecutor's office as it
is in the interest of the company and the Croatian public that facts
on irregularities that ocurred in the past be established
efficiently and quickly.
However, says the management, these problems occurred during the
mandate of the former management and their solution requires time.
The results of the new management are best shown by financial
results for last year, which were significantly improved,
including a profit of 717 million kuna.
The management stressed the importance of a quick and successful
completion of the investigation, which the company needed due to
the ongoing process of privatisation whose goal was to bring fresh
capital.
Zagreb County Prosecutor Krunoslav Canjuga on Monday confirmed
that the so-called white and blue papers were being investigated,
as were several persons from and around INA, suspected of abuse of
office and authority.
