adopted a draft act on the fight against organised crime and
forwarded it to the parliament to pass it in the urgent procedure.

The law, which should mark the start of efforts aimed at the clamp-
down on the Mafia in Serbia, stipulates the establishment of the
institution of special prosecutors with wide authorities and
special police troops subordinate to this institution.
The document also envisages the set-up of a special department
within the Belgrade-based court and separate units for mobsters
detained in custody.
The draft act also introduces the institute of protected witnesses
and secret detectives, i.e. witnesses who collaborate with the
police.
The government adopted a draft act on rules in the procedure in the
fight against organised crime.
