It is almost completely certain that problems regarding the
attitude towards the Permanent International Criminal Court and
the UN mandate in Bosnia-Herzegovina would be resolved even before
July 16, Ashdown told reporters in Sarajevo after meeting members
of the country's presidency.
He said that the discontinuation of the UN mission would be an
obstacle, but not a catastrophe.
The Bosnian authorities and the EU are ready to fill the possible
gap and there would be no threats to security in the country,
Ashdown said.
There are strong assurances that Americans will stay in Bosnia
regardless of the fate of the UN mission because the US
administration is determined to continue contributing to
stabilising peace in the region, Ashdown said.
