Dalai-Lama during his recent visit to that country. #L#
The organisers of the Buddhist supreme priest's visit failed to
inform either personally Archbishop Rode or the Bishops'
Conference of the visit nor did they offer the possibility that the
Bishop receive the Dalai-Lama, a statement released by the
Slovenian Bishops' Conference said.
The Conference expressed its surprise at comments such as the one
that the Church did not wish such a meeting.
Archbishop Rode was present when the Dalai-Lama was awarded as an
honorary senator of Ljubljana University and on that occasion the
Catholic dignitary had a brief encounter with him, the Conference
explained.
