"We did not discuss politics and I did not meet him in my capacity as
the Prime Minister. I have used the privilege to meet him together
with my wife and discuss with him human values and their promotion,"
Racan said for Croatian Television after meeting the Tibetan
spiritual and secular leader at the villa "Prekrizje" in Zagreb.
The meeting took place after the avoidance of Croatian authorities
to meet the Nobel Peace Prize winner met with mostly negative
reactions in the Croatian public, as well as some world media.
Croatia has had and wants to have very good friendly relations with
China, Racan said, stressing his meeting with the Dalai-lama as a
moral authority was not an obstacle to that political ambition.
