BELGRADE, July 1 (Hina) - The chairman of the Yugoslav parliament's

army chief-of-staff. The initiatives will be discussed at the end

One of the initiatives originated from the ruling DOS coalition,
and the other from President Vojislav Kostunica's Democratic Party
of Serbia.
Requests for the establishment of a commission of enquiry followed
after the dismissed chief-of-staff, Nebojsa Pavkovic, claimed that
Kostunica's advisors last year tried to abuse the army by
requesting that soldiers break into the Serbian government's
Communications Bureau, with the excuse that the office was tapped.
A senior official of the Democratic Party of Serbia, Dejan
Mihajlov, on Monday advocated the establishment of a commission of
enquiry which "should ascertain whether there was serious abuse of
office" by senior state officials.
He cited alleged cases of unauthorised tapping of state officials'
telephones and the disclosure of state and military secrets in the
media.
