The police cooperation agency would need a pan-regional
intelligence service, an exchange of police information and
cooperation in investigations, especially for crimes committed in
other countries, Steiner said.
A wide, cooperative approach is necessary in the fight against
terrorism, money laundering, organised crime and smuggling, he
said.
Steiner expressed hope that at the next SEECP meeting, Kosovo
government representatives would be in the delegation representing
Kosovo, not just UNMIK representatives, because many issues
tackled at today's meeting concern obligations which have been
transferred to temporary institutions in Kosovo.
