Apart from Yugoslavia, which in March took over the chairmanship of
the SEECP, the conference is also attended by the foreign ministers
of Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia,
Romania, and Turkey. Croatia has observer status.
The day-long meeting focuses on the facilitating of free trade,
fight against organised crime and terrorism, and the improvement of
cooperation in the power industry, transport, and
telecommunications.
A series of meetings among SEECP ministers will be held during the
day, including a meeting between Croatia's Deputy Foreign Minister
Vesna Cvjetkovic Kurelec and Yugoslav Foreign Minister Svilanovic,
who are to meet this evening.
