Homosexuals, bisexuals and transsexuals started their march
through the Zagreb downtown at 11.15 am Saturday. #L#
The parade, organised by a group for the protection of different
sexual affiliations "Iskorak" and by the lesbian group called
"Kontra", was heavily guarded by police forces and some 100
security guards.
The participants in the parade carried banners "Our Rights are
Human Rights", "Against Homophobia and Patriarchy" and so on.
Several passers-by booed them, but citizens mostly applauded while
the parade was going on.
The support to this rally was expressed by several politicians who
joined the parade. Some of those were Croatian Interior Minister,
Sime Lucin, members of the parliament, Djurdja Adlesic, Furio Radin
and Vilim Herman, some human rights activists and the UN human
rights commissioner in Croatia, Juan Pablo Ornandez.
