The role small and medium-sized countries play in securing peace
and stability increases parallel to the dangers brought by
international terrorism, organised crime, and other threats to
world peace, the defence ministers of Slovenia, Slovakia,
Switzerland, Austria, Romania, and Hungary told a joint news
conference.
Croatia was admitted to full CENCOOP membership, while the Ukraine
was offered information partner status.
Croatian Defence Minister Jozo Rados said he was very satisfied
with Croatia's admission to the CENCOOP.
Speaking about future priorities, the defence ministers mentioned
the preparation and execution of joint peace operations,
cooperation among military police forces as well as military and
civilian observers, and crisis management, which will be the
subject of a joint exercise and expert conference in Hungary in the
autumn.
The Bled conference also tackled the issue of international
terrorism.
