ZAGREB, June 19 (Hina) - Croatian European Integration Minister Neven Mimica visited Denmark on Tuesday and Wednesday. Denmark will take over the chairmanship over the European Union next month.

According to a statement issued by the European Integration
Ministry, Mimica met top Danish officials to discuss the process of
European integration in Croatia and particularly a Stabilisation
and Association Agreement (SAA) with the EU.
In the Danish Foreign Ministry, Mimica held talks with minister for
European affairs Bertel Haarder and political director of the
Danish Foreign Ministry Zelmer Johnson.
Mimica told the Danish officials it was Croatia's wish to enter the
second round of the expansion of the EU. He said that at the
beginning of next year, the Croatian government would submit a
request for full membership in the EU.
By fulfilling obligation from the SAA, Croatia will show that it can
be a reliable partner to the EU, Mimica said.
The Danish officials said they understood Croatia's wish to submit
its candidacy. Apart from the implementation of the SAA, they also
expressed interest in Croatia's cooperation with the International
Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, the rights of
minorities and Croatia's cooperation with neighbouring
countries.
Minister Mimica also held talks with Claus Larsen Jensen, chairman
of the parliamentary committee fir the European union.
