Minister Mimica spoke with the director general for EU expansion,
Enek Landabouru, the director general for external relations, Guy
Legras, and director general for EuropAid, Giorgio Bonacci.
"It is important for us to have direct insight into the course of
negotiations of candidate countries so that we could evaluate what
problems the ten countries to access the EU in the first round of
expansion encounter," Mimica said over the phone to Hina.
He added he informed his collocutors that before year's end Croatia
would adopt new laws to resolve issues pointed out by the EC in its
recent report. These relate to refugee returns, protection of
minorities, reforms in the judiciary and regional co-operation.
The talks also focused on the removal of administrative barriers in
the realisation of various projects.
