Observing the proceedings, besides Croatian experts, are
representatives of the International Commission for Missing
Persons and Yugoslavia.
At least five people, mainly civilians, were buried in the mass
grave, the eldest born in 1911, said Ivan Grujic, head of the
government office for detained and missing persons.
Cartridges were found on the location. Pieces of clothing and
personal belongings indicate the victims were left unburied and
unmarked, which Grujic said was contrary to all Geneva
conventions.
Sixty-nine people went missing in the Lika-Senj County area in
1991. Forty-seven are still being traced.
