The four are employees of the Croatian Mine Removal Centre in Sisak,
Karlovac, Knin and Osijek.
The donation was signed by HCR head Damir Gorseta and Norwegian
Ambassador to Croatia Knut Toraasen.
The project of employing mine victims commenced last year and
endeavours to contribute to resocialising and rehabilitating the
victims and involving them in a normal life, the statement added.
Their work will also make a contribution to resolving the problem of
mines in Croatia.
This project is just one of many by which Norway wishes to help
Croatia in resolving the problem of mines. Several weeks ago,
Norway donated four land vehicles to assist with mechanical mine
clearance. It also financed equipment for the HCR building in Sisak
and to obtain computer equipment.
Since the beginning of the year, a Norwegian non-governmental
organisation called Norwegian People's Aid (NPA) has been
conducting mine clearance as a humanitarian non-profit venture in
the Zadar hinterland.
The HCR further noted that there is a possibility that the Norwegian
government will assist with some other anti-mine programmes.
