Deputy county prosecutor Aleksandar Mitic was not satisfied with
Tuesday's testimony by a medical forensic expert, Mira Mlinac
Lucijanic, and asked of the panel of judges to provide new expert
testimony.
The panel dismissed the request saying that a new expert testimony
would not yield different results with the medical documentation at
hand.
The expert testimony related to eight victims of refugee centres.
For most of them there is medical documentation. Witnesses
testified to most of them having been beaten and exhausted. The
prosecution attempted to connect the injuries and deaths with
treatment in the camps by using witness testimonies.
Witness Lucijanic said that the causes of some injuries or deaths
could have been of different origin than the treatment in camps. She
said that the broken wrist of Mehmed Jusic was the kind of injury one
would receive in defending oneself, when protecting the body from
blows with an arm, but could also be caused by falling on a sharp
object.
