BELGRADE, June 15 (Hina) - There is a real danger that U.S. Congress
will pass a new law this autumn on making the American aid to the
Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) conditional, U.S. Ambassador
for war crimes issues, Pierre Richard Prosper, told Yugoslav
President Vojislav Kostunica on Friday. Prosper held talks with

According to a statement issued by Kostunica's Office, Prosper
announced that such a decision might imply the restriction in
cooperation with financial organisations "unless the FRY makes
more substantial progress in the cooperation with the Hague-based
international war crimes tribunal."
Prosper warned Kostunica that a particular problem for the U.S.
Administration is the fact that some high-profile war crimes
suspects from the Tribunal's indictments are still at large,
referring to the former Bosnian Serb commander, General Ratko
Mladic, read the statement.
"President Kostunica pointed out the problem of the Hague
Tribunal's selective justice..." said the statement.
Kostunica corroborated it by the claim that indictments have been
issued only against high-ranking Serb political officials or
military commanders, while top officials of other sides in war have
not been charged, although they, according to him, undoubtedly
exerted influence on the war events.
Kostunica also complained that none of Albanians had been accused
of war crimes.
