ZADAR, June 7 (Hina) - Deputy Prime Minister Slavko Linic held talks
with county and town officials and businessmen in Zadar on Friday.

stating it was a sign that the government's policy was right. #L#
Linic said there would be no changes in the government's economic
policy for the duration of its mandate. The government cannot make
concrete decisions instead of businessmen, but must provide
conditions favouring development, he said.
The local officials were interested in the start of production in
the BAT tobacco factory in Zadar. Linic said British-American
Tobacco (BAT) was not a serious investor. "This government cannot
be blackmailed. The time of bribery and corruption is over," he
said, adding that BAT had to accept its obligations.
The Zadar officials appealed for the government's support for large
infrastructural projects, like the construction of a ferry harbour
in Zadar, a road from the town to the Zadar Two road junction,
incentives for fish processing and mariculture, the expansion of
the economic belt, water-supply projects for islands, and other
projects.
