ZAGREB/SOLOTHURN, June 7 (Hina) - The people who donated money into the account of the Croatian Democratic Union's (HDZ) foundation were mainly party members or sympathisers, so it would make most sense if said money were used as
intended by the donors and the HDZ leadership, the Croatian World Congress (HSK) said on Friday.

Commenting on the freezing of the foundation's account, this
organisation of the Croatian diaspora said that the incumbent
authorities' "concern" over what it described as small change for
the state found in the account was overblown.
The HSK said that despite plenty of data in the possession of
Croatian institutions, associations and individuals abroad, the
entire aid the Croatian diaspora gave during the 1990s Homeland War
had still not been comprehensively analysed, even by Croatian
authorities.
Speaking on behalf of the HSK Executive Committee, president Simun
Sito Coric said the Congress was certain and knew that the largest
share of the aid, even despite misuse, had been used for the benefit
of the Croatian people and state.
