ZAGREB, June 6 (Hina) - Croatia's unemployment fell by three percent in May in comparison to April, and the number of the jobless decreased by 13,000, the State Employment Institute (HZZ) reported on Thursday.

This has been the biggest absolute drop in unemployment since 1996
and the biggest fall in the unemployment rate in the last 10 years,
HZZ head Sanja Crnkovic-Pozaic said.
At the end of May there were 394,094 persons on the dole, or 13,600
less than in April, but 20,700 more than in May 2001.
The unemployment rate dropped from 23.4 in April to 22.7 percent in
May.
