Rambaud said SFOR was encountering procedural obstacles in the
search of suspicious locations, alluding to the resistance of the
local structures to the probes. It will take some time to search the
suspicious locations, he said.
The commander of Multinational Division Sector South-East, General
Moris Amago, said in mid-May SFOR had information that another
4,000 mortar shells were hidden in the Mostar area. The weapons,
which have not been discovered yet, are causing anxiety among
Mostar residents.
SFOR recently discovered 9,000 mortar shells and three tonnes of
gunpowder in three secret warehouses in the eastern part of the
city. So far, this is the largest quantity of arms discovered in the
country since the end of the war.
