ZAGREB, April 22 (Hina) - Ivo Sanader was re-elected president of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) at the strongest opposition party's seventh general assembly on Sunday. His deputy is Jadranka Kosor.

the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) at the strongest opposition
party's seventh general assembly on Sunday. His deputy is Jadranka

With 1,005 votes, Sanader defeated his adversaries Ivic Pasalic and
Maja Freundlich, who won 912 and 40 votes respectively.
Kosor won 1,041 votes, defeating Ljerka Mintas-Hodak, who won 920
votes.
The delegates of the seventh HDZ general assembly have recognised
the good work of the party's leadership over the past two years,
said Sanader, who has been elected to another two-year mandate.
Andrija Hebrang, Ivan Suker, and Bozidar Kalmeta have been elected
HDZ vice presidents.
Anto Bagaric, Marjan Mlinaric, Kresimir Cosic, Dario Vukic, and
Branimir Luksic have been appointed to the HDZ Presidency.
