Members of the working group remained steadfast in their attitudes
to the bill, a union rep told Hina.
Instead, the working group presented the Economic-Social Council
with conclusions on individual institutions of the Labour Law that
could "become a platform for amendments to the Labour Law with the
aim of increasing competitiveness and increasing employment".
The Govt. Office for Social Partnership stated that pre-conditions
were established for further dialogue with social partners.
However, even prior to today's conclusions to throw the ball to
resolve disputing issues to the GSV, union reps accused the Govt and
employers of trying to use the working group to "water down" the
debate so that it would be easier to push through their intended
amendments to the ZOR which significantly decrease workers'
rights.
Without waiting for the results of the working group, four union
centres decided that this year's May 1st - International Labour Day
- will be marked with a combined protest against the Govt's policies
to drastically cut workers' rights.
