"We need to defend our state and national interests with a wise
policy, we have to overcome differences and intolerance as well as
mobilise all our efforts to achieve our aim of forming a
municipality in northern Mitrovica," Covic told Serb officials in
Kosovska Mitrovica.
"Yugoslavia and Serbia need to co-operate with the international
community and violence won't help us resolve anything," he said,
adding that the survival of Serbs in Kosovo depended on the position
of Serbs in the northern part of that province.
