entering the municipal authority building, Serb sources reported.
PRI[TINA, April 15 (Hina) - Several hundred Serbs from Zubin Potok
in north-western Kosovo on Monday prevented a group of around ten
Kosovo policemen from entering the municipal authority building,
Serb sources reported. #L#
Police from the U.N. civil administration (UNMIK) tried to take 11
local policemen - six Serbs and five Muslims from the southern part
of Kosovska Mitrovica - into the building, but were prevented by
local Serbs who gathered in front of the building, forcing them to
leave the area in armoured transporters.
There were no incidents during today's protest.
A deputy to the U.N. Civil Administrator in Kosovo, Jogent Tripati,
today visited the northern-most Kosovo municipality of Leposavic,
after the municipal authorities stopped cooperating with the
UNMIK.
He announced the arrival of the UNMIK and the continuation of their
work. However, Serbian sources in Leposavic reported that local
authorities still refused co-operation with the UNMIK.
