HR-BULLETIN-Politika BRIEF NEWS BULLETIN IN ENGLISH NO. 4580 HINA ZAGREB, APRIL 5 NEW ZAGREB UNIVERSITY CHANCELLOR INAUGURATEDZAGREB, April 5 (Hina) - By taking over the University Chancellor's insignia - the chain and sceptre, the new Zagreb University Chancellor, Dr Helena Jasna Mencer, was inaugurated on Friday as the first woman to hold this position in the 333-year-long history of Zagreb University. Mencer took over the post from Branko Jeren, Chancellor for the past four years, at a ceremony held at the Zagreb University hall. In her inauguration speech Mencer said that as an autonomous and integrated institution, Zagreb University could perform its mission in a modern, economic and efficient way. The head of the inauguration procedure was Prof Dr Zeljko Horvatic. Attending the ceremony, along with University Senate members and other members of the academic community, were Zagreb Archbishop Josip Bozanic, Prime Minister Ivica Racan, and Zagreb mayor Vlasta Pavic.UNIVERSITY CHANCE
