President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Sulejman Tihic on
Friday rejected any chance of accepting the constitutional
amendment which was virtually imposed by Serb political parties.
"The amendments mean legalising ethnic cleansing and genocide",
Tihic told journalists.
The decision by the parliament in the Serb entity is unacceptable
for the Party for B-H (SBiH) too. The president of that party, Safet
Halilovic who at the same time is the president of the Federation of
B-H, claims that the adopted amendments in fact are "a continuation
of SDS politics dating back to 1992", that is, they are continuing
to discriminate against Bosnians and Croats.
Serb political representatives were mostly satisfied following the
proclamation of the amendments and the job achieved stating that
the most important thing was the "Republika Srpska had been
preserved".
The final judgement of accepting the amendments adopted by the
parliament of Republika Srpska will be passed by the High
Representatives Wolfgang Petritsch as the final authority to
interpret the Sarajevo Agreement on constitutional amendments.
