BELGRADE, April 3 (Hina) - The head of the U.N. Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), Michael Steiner, met on Wednesday with Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica and Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Serbian government Co-ordination
Centre for Kosovo, Nebojsa Covic, to discuss participation of the Serb community in the Kosovo bodies of authority and the return of refugees to Kosovo.
BELGRADE, April 3 (Hina) - The head of the U.N. Mission in Kosovo
(UNMIK), Michael Steiner, met on Wednesday with Yugoslav President
Vojislav Kostunica and Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and head of
the Serbian government Co-ordination Centre for Kosovo, Nebojsa
Covic, to discuss participation of the Serb community in the Kosovo
bodies of authority and the return of refugees to Kosovo. #L#
According to a statement from Kostunica's office, Steiner said that
the return of Kosovo Serbs and other non-Albanians would be
conducted best if a special commission for return, to be headed by a
Serb representative, was established.
Covic and Steiner today signed an agreement on the transfer of 37
Serb prisoners from Kosovo to prisons in Serbia.
Covic told reporters the meeting with Steiner, which was held in
Belgrade, also tackled conditions for the Serb coalition
Povratak's (Return) joining the Kosovo government, which he said
would be discussed more on April 9.
