ZAGREB, March 27 (Hina) - Education and Sports Minister Vladimir Strugar met in Zagreb on Thursday with the head of the OSCE Mission to Croatia, Peter Semneby, to discuss a Croatian government decision on imposing a moratorium on
history classes referring to former Yugoslavia in the Croatian Danube River region, the Ministry said in a statement.

to Croatia, Peter Semneby, to discuss a Croatian government
decision on imposing a moratorium on history classes referring to
former Yugoslavia in the Croatian Danube River region, the Ministry

"One of the topics of today's meeting was the Croatian government's
Decision on a moratorium on history classes concerning former
Yugoslavia, which is in effect until the end of the school year
2002/2003," the statement reads.
Strugar and Semneby also discussed the status of primary and
secondary school teachers in the Danube region.
Strugar informed the OSCE official about the implementation of the
Law on Education in Minority Languages, which the parliament
adopted in May 2000.
Strugar will discuss the same topics during a working visit to
Vukovar-Srijem County on April 6. A working meeting, to be held on
that occasion, will also be attended by representatives of the OSCE
Mission, local self-government bodies, and the Serb National
Council (SNV), the statement read.
