RIJEKA, March 19 (Hina) - Three witnesses, called to testify before the Rijeka County Court in the trial of the 'Gospic group', accused of the abduction and execution of civilians in the central town of Gospic in 1991, failed to
appear in court on Tuesday. The only witness to testify today was Martin Markovic, a member of a rapid-deployment platoon. Continuing his testimony, which he started giving yesterday, Markovic spoke about the night when civilians from Gospic were taken to Pazariste outside the town and executed. Since he helped dispose of the bodies, Markovic said two of five bodies were dressed in civilian clothing and he believed one of the victims was a woman. During yesterday's testimony Markovic said only one body was dressed in civilian clothing and there were no women among the victims. Markovic said he had nothing to do with the abduction of Gospic Serbs and that he did not kill anyone during the
