SPLIT, Feb 27 (Hina) - An agreement on the road transport of goods and people between Italy and Croatia was signed in Split on Wednesday after three days of talks. Both sides are satisfied with the agreement, which offers an integral
regulation of the road transport of passengers and cargo, Croatia because of the increased number of entry permits, and Italy due to stricter ecological standards and the gradual replacement of older lorry models with those which pollute the environment less. The agreement, which has yet to be approved by the two governments, increases the number of Croatian permits for entering Italy from 30,000 to 32,000. During the Split talks, Croatia's proposal to increase the quota by 2,000, mainly for Dalmatian hauliers in the combined ferry transport between the Croatian seaports of Split, Zadar, Dubrovnik and Ancona in Italy, was adopted in light of the increased
