ZAGREB, Feb 19 (Hina) - A total of 1.2 million passengers used Croatian air transport services last year, which is an increase of 16.1 percent in relation to 2000, the State Bureau of Statistics said on Tuesday. A total of 863,000
passengers travelled international distances, which is 21.2 percent more than the year before, while there were 382,000 passengers on domestic routes, or 6.1 percent more than in 2000. The Croatian air transport made 22,683 flights in 2001 or 4.4 percent more than in 2000, carrying 5.4 percent more cargo (over 6,000 tonnes). Over 4,000 tonnes of cargo were transported internationally, which is 4.5 percent more than in 2000. Domestic aeroplanes flew 901,000 passengers to foreign countries,
or 16 percent more than the year before.
