ZAGREB, Feb 27 (Hina) - The newly-established Media Council of the Croatian Helsinki Committee (HHO) believes the ban on the broadcasting of the Croatian Television (HTV) programme "Latinica" on ridding Croatian society of elements of
the Ustasha ideology is unacceptable and demands that the HTV allow the broadcast of the programme. The Council believes the ban is a huge step back with regard to freedom of information and demands that the programme be broadcast. By airing the programme the damage caused by cancelling it could be repaired and HTV would demonstrate that it is aware of different opinions on important and sensitive social issues, reads a statement signed by Council spokesman Geza Stantic.(hina) rml
