ZAGREB, Feb 26 (Hina) - The Croatian Helsinki Committee on Human Rights (HHO) has established a Media Council which will protect the individual or a group of individuals from the media. The Council would represent, and protect, all
citizens whose right to privacy has been violated by the media through illegal and unprofessional writing, the publication of incorrect, unchecked and incomplete information, and citizens who cannot react appropriately, through the media or courts, the HHO said in a statement on Monday. The HHO Media Council would be a collective ombudsman, the statement added. The Council will also represent and protect journalists whose rights to freedom of expression are obstructed by the owners or management in the media.
