GERMAN GROUP GRANTED CONCESSION FOR PORT ACTIVITIES

RASA, Feb 22 (Hina) - Rijeka Port managing director Bojan Hlaca and the director of "Mosolf Logistica Istra" from the German group "Mosolf", Marco Corsi, signed in the Istrian town of Rasa on Friday a contract on a concession for the performance of port activities and the use of facilities at the Brsica Port in the Rasa basin, which is part of the Rijeka Port. The German company claims the port of Brsica will become a logistic centre for the transport of vehicles between Europe and the Far East. Along with last week's contract with the Austrian company "LKM Impex" on a concession for wood transit, today's contract will significantly boost business activities in the Brsica port as well as employment and development in the Rasa municipality. "The contract will strengthen the competitiveness of the Rijeka Port in relation to other northern Adriatic ports. For the first time we have a special terminal for cars, where 30,000 cars will be reloaded annually," Hlaca said, adding this number was expected to rise to 60,000 after an investment by Mosolf.
