ZAGREB, Feb 15 (Hina) - Six judges, who took oath in parliament on Friday, will return to their courtrooms seven years after being dismissed in 1995 under a decision of the State Judiciary Council (DSV), headed by Ante Potrebica.
Congratulating the judges, DSV president Stanko Hautz said the judges were appointed in January 2002, after the Constitutional Court, in some cases three times, dismissed as illegal the DSV decisions. One of the six judges, Erika Kocijancic, said their appointment, after a long process of proving violation of their constitutional rights, was a good sign that judges would no longer be appointed on the basis of somebody's wilful judgement, but under the law and procedures provisioned by the Constitution.(hina) np sb
