ZAGREB, Feb 14 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Thursday set a 60-day deadline for all bodies of state administration to enter all important information on the real estate they are using or managing into the State-Owned Property

ZAGREB, Feb 14 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Thursday set a
60-day deadline for all bodies of state administration to enter all
important information on the real estate they are using or managing
into the State-Owned Property Registry.
Bodies of state administration are expected to submit to the
government's Office for State-Owned Property data on offices which
they are not using for their work within the same deadline.
These conclusions were adopted after a discussion on a report on the
work of the Office for State-Owned Property, which shows that out of
some 30 bodies of state administration, 19 have submitted
information about their property.
Prime Minister Ivica Racan applauded the regulating of the status
of state property, wondering what the public might say about the
state and the people leading it if they themselves did not know what
they owned and tolerated state property being stolen and used
illegally.
The public may think that the state and its administration are
poorely run, Racan answered the question himself, adding the mess
with the state property was not accidental. It was a precondition
for murky business to the state's detriment, he said.
The government has requested all bodies of state administration to,
within six months, enter the property they are using or managing
into land registers. A property management strategy should be
submitted to the government within three months.
The government today also adopted an implementation plan for
removing obstacles to investments in Croatia.
