PRISTINA, Jan 23 (Hina) - Significant progress has been made in interparty negotiations on the establishment of Kosovo institutions, representatives of Kosovo Albanian parties said after talks at the US Office in Pristina on Thursday.
The head of the Office, US Ambassador John Menzies, today held separate talks with three leading Albanian politicians, Ibrahim Rugova, Hashim Thaqi and Ramush Haradinaj. The Albanian representatives said progress had been made regarding proposals on the division of high positions in the province. Reliable sources in leading Kosovo Albanian parties say the only unresolved issue is the composition of the government, adding parliamentary deputies will vote about Kosovo's president and prime minister in a single vote at the next parliamentary session.
