ZAGREB, Jan 16 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament on Wednesday discussed a final draft law on identification cards which should adjust the design of Croatian ID cards to European and world standards. Under the new law, it will be
possible to scan the ID cards of Croatian citizens upon their crossing the borders of EU member-countries. Information on the cards will be written in Croatian and English, and in the Latin script. They will also be fully protected against forgery, and will not include unique citizens' identification numbers to protect the confidentiality of personal data, it was explained. Members of parliament also discussed a draft on the ratification of a loan agreement signed by the European Investment Bank, the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian Railways company. The 40-million-euro loan is intended for the reconstruction of a railway running along the 5th corridor from Budapest via Osijek and Saraje
